Microsoft Outlook : Setting Up Email on an SMTP Server

The follwing steps are designed for setting up Outlokk email under Windows XP.

From the Start menu select Email (Microsoft Office Outlook). You should see the following screen. If you dont see this screen and Outlook starts, select Tools-->Email Accounts. Select "Add a new e-mail account". Press Next..



Select "POP3" as shown below, and press Next



Fill in the "Internet E-mail Settings (POP3)" as follows:
Tip: replace "yourname@pegley.net" with the email address you were given



Click on "More Settings" and type in your email address as shown below:



Next select the "Outgoing Server" tab and turn on the option shown below:



Next select the "Advanced" tab and change the "Outgoing server (SMTP)" to 80. Press OK.



Lastly, in the main window press the button "Test Account Settings". You should see the message below. Finally, press "Next" and that's it, your email is ready to use.
